Travel permits are required for all Missouri Youth Soccer teams that wish to play in tournaments and/or events sanctioned by US Youth Soccer national state associations outside the jurisdiction of Missouri Youth Soccer.
Missouri Youth Soccer jurisdiction is considered to be the geographic boundaries of Missouri.
Teams that wish to play in events sponsored and run by organizations not part of US Youth Soccer will not be issued travel permits from Missouri Youth Soccer. Coaches/managers should inform parents/players on the roster that they do not have insurance coverage from Missouri Youth Soccer for these events. Some events will accept your Missouri Youth Soccer approved state roster and US Youth Soccer player passes but require you to fill out additional information and apply for their insurance coverage. Teams will have to check with tournaments for additional documents needed to participate in their events.
Under US Soccer (USSF) policy 601-7 Missouri Youth Soccer cannot interfere with or deny you the right to attend another USSF member-sanctioned competition (other than for disciplinary reasons). Missouri Youth Soccer policy is to cover their teams only for US Youth Soccer sanctioned events.
Travel Permit Procedures Revised 9/2007
Effective 9/25/2007 two forms are needed to be completed for teams to get permission to travel. You will need to complete the notification of travel and the application to travel. Both forms are available on the forms web page or by clicking below.
Travel permit and notification of travel forms can be signed by any person listed on the Approved to Sign Travel permit list (PDF file).
Please note that you must bring all of the information listed below with you to have your travel permit signed. Please check with the person that you are contacting as to how many copies they will need you to bring as some do not have access to a copy machine on site. Maximum number of copies should be three (one for the team copy, one for the tournament copy and one for the person signing to submit to the state office with payment). Most offices and locations only require one copy and they will make copies for you.
Travel permit procedures for US Youth Soccer approved tournaments/events within the continental United States:
- Complete the Application to Travel Form
- Complete the Notification of Travel Form
- Copy of the approved US Youth Soccer/National State Association Application to Host a Tournament or Games for the competition which you wish to participate.
- Copy of your National State Association approved roster-signed and stamped bye the appropriate registrar. If applicable, signed approved guest player agreement forms. The league registrar that the borrowed player is coming from must sign the guest player permission agreement form.
- Check for $10.00 made out to Missouri Youth Soccer or MYSA. This is the only fee that you should be charged to process a travel permit.
